What is the difference between maintaining and identifying genuine and fake quartz stone slabs?

发布时间:2022-07-26

   Quartz Stone Slab It is a new type of stone material, made by pressing 92% quartz sand powder, 8% resin, pigments and other auxiliary materials under vacuum high pressure. It is an environmentally friendly and green new building material and decorative material, with no radioactive pollution, and can be reused. The following describes its maintenance and the difference between genuine and fake products:

 Quartz Stone Slab

  I. Maintenance of Quartz Slab

  1. Daily Maintenance

  Polished quartz countertops are dense and non-porous, requiring no additional surface treatment to prevent liquids such as wine, cooking oil, and coffee from seeping in. In most cases, wiping with soapy water can keep the surface clean. Then rinse with clean water and wipe with a dry cloth to prevent stains from reforming. During cooking, if liquids and food come into contact with the table, they should be dealt with immediately.

  2. Stubborn Stains

  Quartz stone slabs: Remove residue with a dry cloth. Liquids, food, and stubborn stains from cooking should be removed using a knife or cleaning pad. Do not use dichloromethane or any detergent containing alkaline substances.

  3. Heat Resistance

  Although quartz slabs are more heat-resistant than other countertop materials, all countertop materials can crack due to sudden temperature changes, especially at the edges. For this reason, insulating pads and insulating tripods can better protect the surface of the table.

  4. Scratch Resistance

   Quartz Stone Slab More scratch-resistant than other countertop materials. However, avoid direct contact of knives, drills, or other sharp objects with the countertop, avoid cutting on the table, and use a cutting board before chopping vegetables.

  5. Chemical Resistance

  (1) Avoid using detergents containing bleach or abrasives;

  (2) Avoid using detergents containing rosin oil, otherwise rosin oil residue will be left. Rosin oil will absorb dust on the surface, reducing the surface cleanliness of the quartz stone;

  (3) Avoid using highly irritating cleaners, such as oven, grill, and high-alkaline tableware cleaning brighteners (pH 8.5 or higher);

  (4) Avoid using detergents containing soft and hard abrasives or abrasive detergents;

  II. How to Distinguish Between Genuine and Fake Quartz Stone Slabs?

  1. Hydrochloric Acid Soaking Test

  Quartz stone slabs: In order to maximize profits, some manufacturers will add calcium carbonate to the raw materials of quartz stone. When purchasing, you can request a sample and soak it in an acidic liquid. If the product contains calcium carbonate, it will react with the acid.

  2. Soiling Test

  Good quartz slabs have a fine, dense, and uniform surface and internal structure, low water absorption, and strong permeability; imitation quartz slabs with backward production equipment and processes are often limited to appearance, but the internal structure is loose and porous, with weak impermeability, high water absorption, and strong pollution penetration. You can pour soy sauce on the quartz table to check if it will seep out color. Inferior quartz tables will seep color in a day, while good quartz stones will not seep color in a day.

  3. Check Wear Resistance with a Small Knife

   Quartz Stone Slab Mainly composed of high-hardness silicon dioxide. Quartz on the market is composed of quartz crystals and resin. Generally, the quartz content is about 93%. Therefore, the possibility of breakage is small, and it is relatively wear-resistant. Fake quartz has a high resin content, low surface hardness, and is easily scratched. You can try drawing on the table with a knife.
