Quartz slab manufacturers: What are the processing and seamless precautions for quartz countertops?

发布时间:2022-08-04

Quartz Stone Slab Manufacturer's statement: The installation of quartz stone countertops is a crucial step in the production of quartz stone countertops, directly affecting the overall quality and service life of the cabinets. Improper installation will not only affect the appearance of the countertop but also lead to problems such as countertop cracking. Below, the quartz stone slab manufacturer introduces its processing and seam-sealing precautions:

 Quartz Stone Slab

  I. Quartz Stone Slab --- Precautions for Quartz Countertop Processing

  1. In plane splicing design, the physical properties of quartz stone should be considered to avoid cracking of the seam due to thermal expansion, contraction, or stress concentration. When selecting the connection position, the stress effect of the plate needs to be fully considered. Avoid connecting at corners or near stoves.

  2. When designing countertop corners, the stress concentration leading to cracking at the countertop corners should be fully considered. Therefore, during processing, an arc angle with a radius greater than 2.5 cm should be maintained at all corners.

  3. Quartz stone slab manufacturer: When designing the stovetop opening position, the distance between the countertop opening position and the countertop edge should be greater than or equal to 8 cm to prevent cracking at the countertop opening position. When opening and removing the stovetop opening, first use a cutting machine or a curve saw to open the hole, then use a milling machine or a manual grinding machine to grind and finish the edges to achieve a smooth effect. The arc radii of the four corners are basically consistent.

  4. The corners of the opening should be rounded, with a radius greater than 2.5 cm. The four corners need to be reinforced with homogeneous plates, and there needs to be a certain space between the stove and the table, with a space distance of 0.4-0.6 cm. Heat insulation cloth and tin foil should be added around the opening for heat insulation protection.

II. Quartz Stone Slab ---Precautions for Quartz Countertop Plane Joint Processing

  1. Before splicing, check whether the splicing surfaces of the splicing plates are straight and consistent. A simple method to ensure the fit of the joint is to place the two plates to be spliced on the same plane, bring the two sides to be spliced as close as possible, fix them with F-clamps, then use a positioning guide ruler to fix them in the appropriate position, and simultaneously use a milling machine to cut the two sides to be spliced to obtain a flat and even joint.

  2. In order to make the front end of the splicing joint tight and seamless, wipe the front 2mm-3mm of the splicing joint with 120# sandpaper, then clean the splicing with alcohol or thinner, and then check whether the splicing joint is flat and even.

  3. On the front splicing edge of the two plates to be spliced, determine the number of small blocks to be fixed and the distance from the splicing edge according to the splicing area and the choice of fastening tools.

  4. Quartz stone slab manufacturer: Place the two prepared slabs on the same plane, and then paste double-sided tape under the splicing joint to prevent glue dripping during splicing. Leave a 3mm gap between the two plates to ensure effective control of the glue during splicing and sufficient accommodation of the glue at the splicing joint.

  5. Pour the prepared glue evenly onto the splicing interface, with the amount of glue accounting for more than 1/2 of the reserved gap. Then quickly fix the splicing plate surface with F-clamps or A-clamps. When tightening, carefully check whether the splicing surface is flat. If it is not flat, gently tap it with a rubber hammer until it is higher than the plate surface until it is completely flat.

  6. Quartz Stone Slab Manufacturer: During the curing of the glue, all fixtures must not be loosened or moved arbitrarily, and no person or other heavy objects should be placed on the countertop.

  7. After the glue is cured, remove the excess glue with a milling machine or angle grinder, and then polish it with a polishing machine.
